Q: What will the restaurant look like?
A:
Pretty bloody awful. The red colour will blend nicely with the
cherry blossom trees that we have not cut down. The 10 metre sign is
known the world over and vital to increasing our shareholder profits.

Ummm, was its supposed to look any better when the trees try to hide it?
Q: What hours will it operate?
A: 24 hours. The site in St Lukes (over 1 km away) is too remote and
not 24 hour. The Greenlane site is far to far away for people to drive
to. There are already a 24 hour BP station and Foodtown in Balmoral so
its natural we want to follow suit to provide a public service and
increase profits.
Q: How many car parks will the restaurant
provide?
A: 68 more than the residents actually want or need.
Q: Will any existing trees have to be
removed?
A: Yes of course, but you can't hold back progress. We also paid a
company a lot of money to design something that sounds like a lush
native rain forest, but is just the normal McDonalds landscaping that
will accumulate litter.
Q: Why have you chosen this site?
A: As mentioned previously, the site in St Lukes is over 1 km away so
our customers won't walk or drive that far. This is also ideal as there
are a lot of other eateries that we can drive out of business. We
think we are missing out on people who are now going to Wendy's, pizza
outlets and KFC. The 24 hour operations are increasing our profit at
other sites.
Q: How many vehicles will the proposed
restaurant generate?
A: Another 180-280 cars per hour into the area or around 1900+ a day.
We think 35% of customers will just have been passing by anyway,
even though Council Engineers think around only 17% pass by
traffic. The Auckland Council traffic engineers don't know what
they are talking about. Our highly paid traffic engineers know far
better and will say so at the hearing.
Q: How many people will the proposed
restaurant employ?
A: Well it started out around 80-120, but now we think we can get away with 50. We don't agree with the Wiki definition of a McJob at all. We will employ people at the minimum wage, but the working conditions are great.
Q: When will the hearing be held?
A: Well, as we have not bothered to get back to the council with
requested information, we have no idea. However, it will hopefully be
around Christmas so that the majority of residents will be elsewhere
when the hearing is held.
Any queries regarding the
hearing are best directed to the council on (09) 379 2020.
