So what is it all about?

Here are the McDonald's plans if you want to see what McDonalds think it will look like (2.64 mb).

This proposal has been publicly notified as it sits outside the Auckland City Council's district plan.  The Council is required to approve this as:

  • the activity is located within 30m of a residential zone.  
  • a drive through facility is proposed  
  • the proposal does not meet the streetscape improvement controls on either Balmoral Rd or Wiremu St frontages of the site  
  • carparking areas will be visible from Wiremu St  
  • the propsal does not provide the required 1m high wall and planting along the Wiremu St frontage of the site
  • earthworks over an area greater than 500m2 are proposed
  • nine generally protected trees and one street tree are proposed to be removed  
  • the vehicle crossing on the Balmoral Rd frontage exceeds the permitted width of 6m.
